The theme for the 2015 NZ HR Conference evolved from the idea of VUCA. VUCA stands for volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity and originated at a military school in the 1990s .

Whilst devised for a war zone, this concept increasingly applies to the environment in which business operates today. It is likely that the world of work, even in just 25 years time, will bear little resemblance to the current day.
